PTSD - Bothering You Lately?

Thursday, April 25, 2024, 6:28 PM - 8:30 PM

PTSD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Combat Moral Injury used to be called "Shell Shock" or "Battle Fatigue" because they were frequently experienced by soldiers stationed on the frontlines. But PTSD is also common among men and women, young and old, who have gone through any type of stressful event including natural disasters, accidents, sexual violence, etc.

If you or a loved one are living with PTSD/Combat Moral Injury, there may be flashbacks and/or nightmare.  Situations may be avoided that bring back unwanted memories or that cause anxiety, sadness, or anger. It may be harder to connect with others or keep up with school or work.

PTSD can be treated and healing can begin.

Dr. Robert Hicks is a chaplain for the Alabama National Guard, a conference speaker and author of numerous books on handling trauma from a biblical perspective. He will be the guest speaker at the Beaufort campus of CBC, Thursday, April 25. The event is free and geared to both those with PTSD as well as those seeking to help. But you do need to pre-register, so we know how many people to accommodate. Please sign up here.

Bring your questions and insights, and learn how to experience healing from the haunting memories that may be troubling you or someone you love.
